St. Lawrence River monster musky being certified as state’s largest catch-and-release

Capt. Rich Clarke of Sign Man Charters, Clayton, NY, caught a 58 3/4-inch long by 27 1/2-inch girth muskellunge while fishing just east of Clayton Dec. 6, 2009.
It is pending state DEC-certification as the largest catch-and-release fish of 2009. Capt. Clarke is entering his 30th year of guiding successful fishing trips in the 1000 Islands. [...]

Pro hockey to debut in 1000 Islands

The 1000 Islands will be home in November 2010 to the Privateers, one of four charter teams in the upstart Federal Hockey League.
