Scenic Cruises and Boat Tours

Cruising among the 1000 Islands aboard a guided boat tour is among the most popular reasons why visitors come here. Cruises include trips past dozens of islands, fairytale castles, lighthouses, island mansions and wildlife all accompanied by true tales of pirates, bootleggers and the Gilded Age rich and famous who all spent time here. Cruises vary in length from one-hour tours to upward of five hours. Many include lunch or dinner.

Tours depart from several communities along each side of the border. Cruising companies regularly host thematic cruises centered to fun, education and experiencing the culinary assets of the region.

Phone: 613-269-3415

The Rideau Roundtable has partnered with Paddle Canada and Parks Canada to host interpretive tours along the Rideau Waterway! What makes these tours unique is they take place in 34-foot replica voyageur canoes with guides in voyageur costume. With up to 36 participants leisurely paddling in the two canoes (up to 18 per canoe), the tours explore both the natural and historical aspects of the Rideau Waterway. Our regular paddling instructors and guides provide paddling instruction and interpretation of nature and historical tales. A usual trip consists of being locked through a set of locks on the Rideau Canal, and exploring one of the significant wetlands which can be found along the river. Tours usually last around 1.5-hours. Tours are offered anywhere along the Rideau where there is launch access.
