You’re invited to discover the only Zoo in the world dedicated to New York's wild animals and wild places. Located in the heart of historic Thompson Park, the New York State Zoo is home to over 200 animals and is accredited by the AZA.

Open daily from 10am to 5pm, and every Wednesday the Zoo is open until 8pm through the end of summer. Don’t miss your chance to get nose to nose with a Black Bear or Mountain Lion, take a leisurely stroll through the newly renovated Aviary featuring Herons, Owls, Waterfowl and Turtles, climb a real Adirondack Firetower, visit with the animals in the Childrens Farm, or watch the crazy antics of the Fishers as they romp and play.

Spring, Summer, Winter or Fall, the New York State Zoo is the perfect spot to spend a day any time of year. While you’re at the Zoo, be sure to visit North Country Nights, a unique exhibit that allows you to get a glimpse at what goes on in the animal kingdom after dark. Little ones are sure to enjoy spending time in the new KidZone play area, specially designed for them to jump, climb, crawl, skip and bounce, just like their favorite animals.

More information on the New York State Zoo is available by calling 315.782.6180. For family fun…The New York State Zoo is the place to be!
