Saturday, September 2, 2017

Discover how War of 1812 soldiers, sailors, Marines, and local militia took action to defend the nation and advance against the foe. Ladies supported these warriors taking care of life on the home front. See how the military personnel and volunteer militia shoulder-arms, clean weapons, fire a cannon, march and drill, while ladies in camp cook rations and sew garments. Living history demonstrations are free and open to the public on select Saturdays throughout the season in the Sackets Harbor Battlefield’s Memorial Tree Grove in front of the historic Navy Yard.
